BUSK Safe Child Transport
We are proud to be a Benchmark Member of BUSK, the independent organisation that works to promote safe child transport throughout the UK and specialises in all aspects of home to school transport, school trips in the UK and school visits abroad. The services that BUSK provides are free of charge to parents and schools.
BUSK Benchmark is the first and only completely independent star rating for the minibus and coach industry based on safety and legal compliance. To achieve this rating, we undergo two independent audits to check how we are run, to see what systems are in place to safeguard passengers and to what standards our drivers are trained. Checks are made when a company applies to join and every three years after that. All member companies are subject to a random spot check.
A school that provides home to school transport has a legal obligation to provide a ‘safe journey’ and to thoroughly investigate the suitability of the transport being contracted for. Furthermore, the routes being used to transport the children along with the commensurate pick-up and drop-off points, need to be thoroughly risk-assessed.
